A scholar, a law enforcer, a master-manager, and a visionary. He is Avelino I. Razon Jr. - an embodiment of commitment, dedication, loyalty, and trustworthiness that should be imbibed not only by men in uniform, but by every Filipino today.

General Razon’s public life was a culmination of more than three decades of public service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, and in the civilian sector of government. As a military official and as police officer, General Razon stood by the shibboleths of results, reform, and reason, and in doing so became an agent of development, change and improvement in the ranks of the security forces of the country. As an agent of peace, General Razon sought to put an end to insurgency and violence that has stalled development efforts in many regions of the country

As a Manileño, he aims to bring forth an alternative leadership that can bring forth in Manila and among the Manileños development, safety, peace, and good governance.

General Razon handled various positions in AFP and PNP and consequently, the civilian government. The highlights of his career include working as a Deputy and then Commander of the elite PC Special Action Force from 1983 to 1987. He was also assigned as Group Commander of PSG under Former President Fidel V. Ramos from 1993 to 1996. He was designated as Chief of Western Police Command twice, from 1996-1998 and 1999-2001. As testament to his excellence and management acumen, he was chosen as the Chief PNP after gaining experience from various PNP directorates and offices. After his retirement from the Philippine security forces, he was appointed by President Arroyo as Presidential Adviser of Peace Process.

A true Manileño in vision, ardor and origin, Kuya Sonny as he is fondly called, was born on 27th day of September 1952 in Sta Cruz, Manila. He attended public school at University of the Philippines in his elementary and high school days, before he enlisted as a plebe in the Philippine Military Academy in 1970.
