PHILIP T. GO
Chief Information Officer
Philip T. Go is first ever Chief Information Officer for Barton Malow Company. When he joined the company in 1997 his charge was to utilize information technology to create competitive business advantages for the company and provide clients with enhanced value. To accomplish this he adopted the thinking that IT is not about ‘technology’ but rather it is about focusing on delivering innovation and value to the core business.
For many, the challenge to turn the 86 year-old construction company
into a 21st century e-business would be overwhelming. However, for
Phil, incorporating IT into the core business is not a one-time
destination, it is a journey and he relishes the challenges, changes
and complexity. As the leader of the IT initiative he sees Barton
Malow, as a company where utilizing information technology coupled with
business process re-engineering is the primary mode for conducting both
internal and external business functions to streamline operations thus
providing efficiencies and value to the firm.
Under Phil’s leadership, he has guided Barton Malow into an international light by receiving several distinguished IT awards. From 2001 through 2009, Information Week listed Barton Malow among the 500 most innovative companies worldwide. In addition, CIO Magazine thrice named Barton Malow to its list of the top 100 companies that have innovative information technology practices and IT excellence. Computerworld named Phil as a Premier 100 IT Leader. Phil is a graduate of Santa Clara University where he earned a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also has an MBA from the University of Michigan. Phil was awarded the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award - the highest honor bestowed by the School of Engineering from Santa Clara University. Phil is also a committed humanitarian and caring family man. He enjoys cooking for his wife Daphne and other family members at special gatherings. Phil is an avid oenophile and collects fine wines from major wine regions in both the Old and New World. Previously, Phil has held positions in Information Technology at Andersen Consulting, McKinley Associates and the Greenfield Coalition at Focus: Hope’s Center for Advanced Technologies. |
